The Vietnamese traditional “áo
dài” dress has been referred to in countless Vietnamese poems and is the source
of inspiration for many verses. Naturally, the inspiration only comes
when it is worn by a slender beauty. The dress can be worn on many
occasions, formal as well as informal : parties, dinners, holiday strolls,
visiting friends. It is also the national uniform for female high school
students, with the color usually white. The dress imbues a feeling of softness and gentleness with its flowing silk fabric, and modesty with little bare skin shown. Áo dài is feminine elegance at
its best and yet it can be very sexy as the dress can strongly emphasize the lovely curves of its wearer. With the “áo
dài” dress, Vietnam has made a beautiful, timeless contribution to the world
of elegant feminine fashion.
